Paralegals/Legal Assistants

Susan Chervenic: Susan joined Hall Sickels as a certified paralegal in 1999 and is experienced in all aspects of civil litigation. She has a BA in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York and and earned her Certificate in Paralegal Studies from McIntosh College.

Doris Miller: Doris has more than 25 years of experience in the medical field, including both clinical and research labs, primarily as a microbiologist. She joined the firm in 2000 and uses her extensive medical background to assist in case preparation, particularly in medical malpractice, wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. She received a BS in Medical Technology from Michigan State University and completed an internship in Medical Technology from the University of Michigan Medical School. She is a registered Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Tess Ugay: Tess was a legal assistant at the office of the corporate counsel for a utility company for six years in employment discrimination and immigration cases. She participated actively in their diversity program. In 2004 Tess worked for a law firm in Alexandria, Virginia in the areas of commercial litigation, bankruptcy, personal injury and medical malpractice cases. She joined Hall Sickels in 2006. For the past 5 years, Tess worked in civil litigation on a wide variety of personal injury and medical malpractice cases. She also has experience working with financial service providers and commercial enterprises.

Misti Freeland: Misti graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in International Studies and Geography in 2005. After graduation, she began her litigation experience at a defense firm in Durham, North Carolina. While there she worked in insurance defense, corporate litigation and estate law. She relocated to northern Virginia in 2007 and began working with Hall Sickels as their corporate legal assistant in February of 2009.

Aja Wonderley: Aja was a legal assistant for a law firm that handles commercial and residential real estate litigation among other areas of law. In 2006, she received her Paralegal Certificate from George Mason University. Aja joined Hall Sickels in February 2009 and works in the areas of medical melpractice and personal injury cases.
